Karl Munroe (Defender) (Squad Number - 3) Signed for Droylsden in January 2008 after his release from Altrincham. He was with Oldham Athletic as a schoolboy and also played for Manchester Boys alongside Wes Brown before joining Swansea as a YTS trainee. In 1999 he left on a free transfer for a brief spell at Haverfordwest before he signed for Macclesfield in summer 1999. He spent much of 2004-05 at Halifax Town but in March 2005 he moved to Northwich, having been sidelined at The Shay by injury and eventually signed for Altrincham in the summer of 2005. Greg Strong (Defender) (Squad Number - 5) Signed for Droylsden in January 2008 from Northwich Victoria. The former England schoolboy and youth international, started his career with Wigan in 1992. He then moved to Bolton, but after failing to establish himself in the first team he moved north of the border to play for Motherwell. He returned to England in 2002 when he was signed up by Hull City and also had loan spells with Cheltenham Town, Scunthorpe United, Bury and Macclesfield Town before moving north again to sign for Livingston in 2005. He joined Dundee in August 2006 after being freed by Livingston but was released in late 2006. In March 2007, he was signed by Halifax and scored on his debut after just four minutes, but was released by the club at the end of the season, joining Northwich. Jimmy Williams (Defender) Joined the club in July 2005 from Southport, formerly at Bristol Rovers. Signed by Southport in the summer of 2003. Previously made 37 appearances for Swindon Town before injury problems interrupted a very promising career that saw him make his Swindon debut as a teenager. He marked an excellent first season at Droylsden by winning the Players Player of the Year & Committee’s Player of the Year at the end of season awards. Jamie Tandy (Midfielder) (Squad Number - 7) Rejoined the Bloods in Sept 2006 after leaving to join Lancaster City during the summer 2006. He originally signed in December 2005 after failing to gain a contract with Barnsley. A product of Man City's youth academy 19 year old Jamie Tandy was released by the Blues in the summer of 2005. Ged Murphy (Midfielder) (Squad Number - 27) Ged rejoined the Bloods in June 2007 from Stafford Rangers. After beginning his career at Oldham Athletic, he had spells with Barrow, Nuneaton Borough, Hyde United and Leigh RMI as well as Stafford. In August 2001, he joined Stalybridge in before, switching to Droylsden a year later where he stayed until November 2005. He then had a spell with Altrincham and also a period on loan at Radcliffe Borough. He rejoined Stafford Rangers in August 2005 having previously made one appearance for the club during the 1999/2000 season. [1] [2] [3] [4] [5] |
